About the Artist: Bea Mitchell

BEA MITCHELL’s work has been exhibited at The Cleveland Museum of Art; The Sculpture Center, Cleveland; Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University, New Jersey; Heuser Art Center Gallery, Bradley Universitiy, Illinois; Beachwood Museum, Ohio; Great Northern Corporate Center Art Gallery, Ohio; B. Abroad her work has been exhibited in Toronto, Canada; Kanagawa, Japan; Chongqing and Tianjin, China; Bangalore, India. Her work is in the collections of the New Jersey State Museum; Portland Art Museum, Oregon; Transco Energy Corporation, Texas; Everen Securities Group, Illinois; Henry Ford Hospital, Michigan; Midland Center for the Creative Arts, Michigan; Artists Archives of the Western Reserve, Ohio; Chitrakala Parishad School of Visual Art, Bangalore, India. Mitchell’s work has been featured on the cover of E & A Environment and Art Letter, November and December, 2002; THE GUILD Sourcebooks, Architectural Arts & Sculpture, 1999, 2000 and 2001; Northern Ohio Live, February 2008 and interviewed on WVIZ/PBS Applause. Bea Mitchell was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1931. She received a B.F.A. from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1980.
